Software Application Consultant
Software Conversion
Looking for a new member on a development team of a custom application in Visual FoxPro 7.0 for accounting, job costing and project management. Interface between management, end-users and programmers on both completed systems and conversion of new systems.
Duties on completed systems include testing reported bugs and errors, reporting to programmers and verifying results of fixes. Also, assist from design of modifications and enhancements through testing, implementation and end-user training.
On new systems, conduct beta testing through conversion and parallel of legacy system. Act as liaison between management group, programmers and the functional user group. Train with staff on existing systems and procedures. Meet with management and users to determine reporting needs. Assist on design. Meet with programmers on data and reporting needs. Verify results of program updates, data conversions and parallel tests. Document systems and train end-users.
Environment: Visual FoxPro 7.0 application, Win98 and Win2k client computers, Novell 5.1 network, wide-area-network with redundant data storage, satellite offices with remote access.
Minimum of two years experience in a similar position required. Academic studies in software design/programming desired.
Excellent communication skills required.
Travel between Los Angeles and San Diego.
