Data Integrity (Con't from page 1)
valid name with some one else’s valid address. Off course no mailing list remains valid for long, but this one seems to have started out wrong.

Previously this information was not made available electronically, so the opportunity to easily discover its inconsistencies were not made available to the public. I see many articles on the mounds of information that government agencies and private parties are accumulating on us. Now we have the additional worry about the data being right. I’m certain I will think twice the next time a client says that they would like me to right a quick program for collecting data and not to bother with writing thorough validation routines.

[Ed. Note: Larry McQuerrey is President of The Orange County FoxPro Developers Group, as well as President of his own company, Advanced Sofhvare. He can be reached on CompuServe at 72 723,2 733.]
Out and About (Con? from page 1)
4 or 5 individuals to lead a discussion on marketing techniques and client relations. Those interested can contact Barry Lee, via phone (714/968-4225) or CompuServe (72723,3422).

Also In January......The Cris Wittious Road Show. Cris Wittrous, who previewed VFP last December to both LA Fox and OC Fox, will be holding forth at an as-yet-undisclosed location that will be centrally-located to the LA, OC, and San Diego groups. The speculation is that she’ll be showing VFP/MAC and the next revision of VFP. More details on this one as soon as I hear. But keep your calendar open around January 17.
