group may volunteer to be a member of the Board. However, we try to limit
Board membership to 8-10 people, since a larger number would constitute
a SIG. <g> One of the big reasons people volunteer to be on the board is
that they feel they can make a difference and contribute the effort into
making the group function more smoothly, etc.. (In other words, these
people are freely donating their time because they want as opposed to
doing it because nobody else will.) The Board then elects officers to
oversee the various operations of the group.
LA Fox Website Updated. The LA Fox Website, at
http:ll
www.mesllc.com/lafox.html,
has been recently updated. Go check out the
“FoxFiles” section, which has files available for downloading. We’ve added
all of the patches to FPW and VFP5 that we know about. This addition to
the “FoxFiles” isn’t meant to steal any of Microsoft’s thunder, but rather to
speed up the process and minimize the online wait. The last person we
heard about, trying to download these files, had about a 20 minute wait
before the Microsoft site was accessible. There’s also some other neat
stuff’ up there, as well, with more additions coming in the near future. So
check it out.
