How to do It
If you don’t want Web Sites to dump a cookie in your computer,
you can change your Internet browser to warn you before
accepting cookies.
Microsoft Internet Explorer. Under the Options menu, choose
View Options, and click on the Advanced tab. Click the box
that says “warn before accepting cookies”.
Netscape Navigator. Under the Options menu, choose
Network Preferences, and then choose Protocol. Click on the
box that says “show alert" before accepting cookies.
The anti-cookie sentiment has spawned a modest cottage
industry in preventing them from getting on computer hard
drives. Check out these Web sites:
