The LA Fox Developer Newsletter
October 1997
Free Comdex Tickets
Contributed by Tom Rombouts
A few people have asked me how to get free Las Vegas
COMDEX exhibits tickets this year. Here is an e-mail I got, and
based on it I just registered for COMDEX online. It works fairly
well, but it was dog slow. I had to wait about
two
minutes for
each new page to load. The registration code I used was
“PCWY” if you don’t want to download the graphic that displays
it.
For the record, Las Vegas COMDEX this year will be November
17-21.
Good luck!
Tom

Neon is No More
Philip M. Feitman, Toni M. Feltman and W. Michael Feltman
have formed a new company, Fl Technologies. Fl Technologies
has assumed control of Neon Software’s FoxExpress product
line as well as all other assets of Neon Software.
For several years there has been a great deal of confusion with
Neon Software, Inc., a software company located in Palo Alto,
California.
Neon Software was a leading provider of development technol-
ogy for Microsoft Visual FoxPro and FoxPro 2.6. Over the past
seven years Neon Software built a solid reputation as an
innovative provider of top-quality FoxPro products aid services.
Fl Technologies was formed to build on thh tradition as well as
provide developers with a broader scope of application develop-
ment technology.
Fl Technologies will be moving in new directions both internally
and in what is visible to their customers. The internal roles have
shifted and been redefined to improve customer service and
increase efficiency. Also, Fl Technologies will offer services that
were not available from Neon Software and expand existing
services.
Fl Technologies will continue to develop, support and market
the Neon Software product line while developing new prod-
ucts and expanding its training and consulting services. Fl
Technologies’ new direction will result in dramatic improvements
to its existing products as well as the development of
exciting new products.
Neon Software will remain in operation until the transition to Fl
Technologies is complete. Fl Technologies will continue to
ship products bearing the Neon Software name until its existing
inventory is exhausted. By that time Fl Technologies expects
to have a new version of Visual FoxExpress bearing the Fl
Technologies name ready for release. All existing support and
consulting contracts with Neon Software will be honored by Fl
Technologies.
Their new mission statement:
“Fl Technologies exists to help professional developers save
time and money. We supply the innovative tools and services to
help you dramatically increase your productivity by reducing
application development time and increasing the quality and
functionality of your applications.”
You can visit their new Website at
