2nd Annual Southern California
VFP Conference Highlights
Part 1
by Barry R. Lee
[Ed. Note: Microcomputer Engineering Services, LLC (MESLLC) is sponsoring their 2ndAnnual Southern California Visual FoxPro Conference from August 20-23, 1998, at The DoubleTree Hotel in Costa Mesa. This is the first in a series of articles spotlighting different aspects of the conference.]

This year, we’re trying something rather unique.. .the “Bring A Friend” program, or B.A.F. It’s quite simple. Here’s how it works:
There is a blank line on the new registration form, labeled “Referred by ... “. You will receive a $25 rebate for each conference registrant that references you on this line. You could conceivably go to the conference for free.

However, there are rules:
1.
The person being referenced must be registered by no later
than August 16, 1998.
2.
Rebates cannot be used to discount regular registration
costs.
3.
Once the registration is received, the “referred by” cannot
be changed.
4.
Only one name allowed on the “referred by”.
5.
Rebate checks will be made out to whomever is referenced
on the “referred by” line of the registration. (It is your responsibility to determine whether the rebate is directed towards you or your company, if your company has paid for the conference. MESLLC takes no responsibility in this area.)
6.
Total rebate will be paid during the conference or no later
than August 31, 1998.

Additional Discounts

If you attended last year’s conference, you should have received a postcard entitling you to an extra $15 off the registration fees if you return the postcard with the completed registration. If you attended last year’s conference and have not yet received this postcard, please contact MESLLC at (800) 375-3300, or e-mail brlee@mesllc.com.

Hotel Discounts.
We have also arranged for discounted room rates at the conference hotel. Single rooms (one person, one bed) will be discounted to $85/night. Double rooms (two people, two beds) will be discounted to $95/night. Normally, the corporate rates on these rooms are $139 and $154 respectively. This represents a 39% discount off of the hotel’s National Corporate rate.

Airline Discounts. United Airlines will provide round trip transportation to the conference on United Shuttle by United or United Express scheduled service in the United States, Canada, and Puerto Rico at fares of either (1) a 5% discount off

That does it! The table(s) in the DBC have naa their CDX rebuilt from scratch, and they all still have their PRIMARY and CANDIDATE keys, and all their persistent relations. I haven’t tested it, but believe this will also preserve the associated Relational Integrity code and properties.
