Mike Feitman
The Do’s & Don’ts of Framework Design
Mike Feltman is one of the most experienced framework designers in the FoxPro community, with experience in developing commercial frameworks dating back to FoxPro 2.0. In this session Mike will reveal many of the secrets he’s learned the hard way. Mike will discuss using decorators and observers to work around VFP limitations, creating objects that can be used
without having
in-depth knowledge of their inner workings, loose
vs.
tight
coupling of objects, providing a high level of functionality
without sacrificing flexibility, the trade-offs of composite classes and more. This session is intended for developers that are either writing their own framework, trying to choose a framework or developers trying to gain insight into the thought processes behind the design of the framework they’re using today.
Eldor Gemst
Introduction to Remote views
Remote Views are the VFP component most commonly used for Client/Server applications. This session gets you up to speed quickly. What
can
you do with a Remote View? How do you set one up? What tricks can save you time and frustration? How do you handle update conflicts? How
can
you get more power than is apparent through the View Designer? Eldor Gemst shows you all of this and more in this intermediate-level session.
