Neon Software,
developers
of
FoxExpress
and
Visual FoxExpress,
sponsored the second annual
FoxExpress Developers Conference at Treasure
Island, Las Vegas, from Dec. 4-6, 1995.
For those not familiar with
Express,
it is a rapid
application development (RAD) tool that is not just
an everyday application generator.
Express
repre-
sents an actual development environment, extend-
ing many of the functions and features of
FPW2.6
and
VFP,
while staying within the framework and
design surfaces of many of the “power tools” of
FoxPro.
It’s like a wizard on steroids, in that it
produces robust code that handles the more
mundane and not-so-mundane tasks that every
developer encounters in every application, leaving
more time for the developer to handle the “tweaks”
that every client seems to come up with.
This year’s conference featured many well-known
speakers and developers within the
FoxPro

Freeman, Alan Schwartz, Andrew Ross-MacNeil,
Eldor Gemst, Dave Frankenbach, Mike Robbins,
Kristyne McDaniel, and of course, Mike Feltman
and Toni Taylor-Feltman, the originators of the
product.

session and, by the end, every attendee was
suffering from “brain overload”. (This year’s
conference featured a truly international atten-

The Annual LA Fox
christmas
Party. Last year, we were very fortunate to
be treated to one of the first previews of Visual
FoxPro. Who knows what surprises await us this
year? One sure thing will be George Dvorak’s delight-
ful treats that never disappoint. Ken Levy and Bill
Anderson will also feature a couple of things they’ve
been working on. Maybe a surprise guest or two if I
can get
them. Plan for an evening of fun and friend-
ship. (See “Christmas Party Skinny”, page 8.)

Irvine, lead a discussion on marketing techniques and
client relations. Those interested can contact Barry
Lee, via phone (714/968-4225) or CompuServe
(72723,3422).
Also in January The Cris Wittrous Road Show.
Cris Wittrous, product manager for Microsoft FoxPro,
will be sending her crack team of specialists to Orange
County to kick off the new National Visual FoxPro
Road Show. The location, central to the LA, OC,
and
San Diego groups, will be the Red Lion Inn, 3050
Bristol St., Costa Mesa, CA, 92646, on January 17th,
